Greetings everyone! First things first...hoping and praying that you and all family and all those in your circle of friends and neighbours are keeping safe and keeping well. A global pandemic is certainly not what we had in mind when we began 2020 was it?! For those that have been ill and are recovering and to those that may in fact have lost loved ones during this time, I send you our prayers and encouragement as well as our heart felt sympathies in this time of loss and mourning. 2019 was a year filled with various experiences including family life, work, learning, challenges, travel and peace. We continue to give thanks for strong family ties and communication as well as a striving business that hopefully brings a growing sense of wellness to our patients and clients. Having a home based office has been an increasingly enjoyable experience for both myself and my spouse, and a huge plus for our immediate family. During this "time off" we have been able to get a few things reorganized in the office and around the house. Even have taken the time to paint the entire office to give it a much needed freshening. It really has made it a brighter place to spend some time. Hoping that those who attend for treatment feel the same way when they are here. Thankfully the nonsense that was happening last year related to calls we were receiving claiming that 'JMV Health' was removing funds from several personal accounts in various US states has stopped. We finally concluded that the claims were being made by similarly motivated scam artists - most likely working together for their mutually illegal financial benefit. I mentioned travel earlier...as a family we were able to put together a time where we visited family and friends in England and in Italy. I was 100 years ago almost to the day that that three of my grandparents had come to North America from Italy. We had a great trip, great weather, and unbelievably wonderful food! We rented a car for part of the trip and used several trains (and a few planes) to get to where we were going. With both car and train, the Italians waste no time getting from A to B! One train we were on got to speeds of over 260kms per hour...pretty fast if you ask me! Again, great trip...but also very good to be home. To finish out the year our son graduated from a barber course and at about the same time I took on the project of growing a beard for a year, otherwise known as a 'yeard'. So far so good. Made it through the itchy stage, then the gnarly "are you growing your beard out stage?" and now five months in - I'm enjoying quite a heavy white (with a little pepper) longish natural beard. I'm sure that by the beginning of November people will be asking me if I am going to apply for a mall job as a Santa! The answer to this will of course be No since I'm not very excited about the whole Santa Clause phenomenon, plus I would not enjoy telling children that I was going to bring them something for Christmas...and then not come through! I'll let the parents and anyone else courageous enough to act as a Santa do that. I will begin as I started. Be safe. Be well. May we all look ahead to a more sane and healthy world where we can reconnect and enjoy one another - being less stressed and more content. As per the 'trend' you'll likely see my next post on this blog in 2021.

Hey Everybody, I realize that I again have not posted anything for a while. Things are generally going great, except something that I will address at this time. Someone or some entity has possibly "stolen" our company name and is using it illegally and somehow targeting various people's accounts all across the USA...please be assured that THIS IS NOT US. This is pretty sad, so if you are reading this and are one of the people who have fallen victim to this...all I can say is that we are doing what we can at our end to figure out how to stop whatever is going on. We have contacted our local police as well as the Canadian Anti Fraud Division (CAFD) of the Canadian federal government. They are looking into the matter and we are continuing to do so also. If your are reading this and are the victim of this illegal activity please contact your bank, credit card company, local police and/or local government and file a report. If whoever you contact communicates with us we will gladly cooperate with them and tell them what we know so far...which isn't much unfortunately. The address and other details of our company - like anyone else's company - is fully available online. One theory is that someone is using our name or something close to it like "JMV Health" ( which is not our company name, close but not the same) in what we learned is called a "Continuation Scam". What this may mean is that if you had purchased something online or somewhere else, criminals can gain access/acquire or scam your information somehow and begin to bill you for other purchases that you did not make or are not making. Again, if you have this happen to you, contact your bank etc to immediately place a stop order on whatever entity/person is doing it. This is all that I have on that topic for now.

Hey Everybody, Again, updating this blog seems to escape our attention for the most part...you know, life happens or even better...life is happening. We are maintaining our current office schedules as indicated in a previous blog entry. These days things seem to be revolving around our family life - as it should - and secondarily our professional life. As a side note: we also are ongoingly attempting to assist our 3 and a half year old Olde English Bulldogge who has had many health challenges including what we've identified is a "Leaky Gut Syndrome" plus a Candida Albicans issue. We resorted to a very powerful medication for her in the recent past which worked very well initially but has since stopped working and the symptoms have returned. The side effects of this medication have not been well documented or even well researched at this point but we are experiencing first hand what they are. We are trying to deal with this ourselves on a nutritional basis but a solution to these problems seems quite elusive at the moment. Our office 'family' continues to grow and typically experiences some quieter times but as a whole we are happy helping those new patients that join us and for those who continue their journey with us on an ongoing basis. Marci continues to assist her clients with basic massage therapy and cranial-sacral therapy. ( For anyone who has not had the experience of cranial-sacral therapy I would encourage you to try it. On numerous occasions I have had excellent immediate results from a session of this type of 'work'. I personally usually fall asleep during a session and wake up feeling rested and relieved from whatever was ailing me at the time...for me it's typically from a bump on the head while I'm in the crawlspace of our home or a strain from too much snow shovelling, things like that.) As for myself I continue to provide care for my patients in the form of chiropractic adjustments delivered through Activator Methods and Impulse - Neuromechanical Technique protocols. For those who adopt chiropractic care as a consistent part of their health care practices we find these two methods to be very helpful. Another side note, I have just completed my St John Ambulance First Aid/CPR/AED certification. This reminds me that all of our household, office, and vehicle first aid kits should be updated and/or replaced to bring them to current standards. I highly recommend this course whether you plan to act as a potential 'first aider' or not. Tons of great information for what life could potentially present. Well, having said all of this...time to get back to work and assist those that are coming into the office this afternoon...including two new patients, the first being a month old baby and the other a 87 years young senior! Looking forward to both. John.

Seems that we have not been around much according to the date on the blog, but we are still here! Our office is going strong as we approach the summer of 2014...time is flying. This past week we've had our local streets ripped up and repaved, so it's been interesting for our patients getting to and from the office. It's all finished and looks great. Dr. V is going on 'summer mode' with a change in hours for July and August. He will be in the office only on Mondays and Thursdays from about 10am until 6pm...with a bit of time for a nutrition break in the middle somewhere. In September he'll be back to his normal hours. Marci will be keeping her hours the same, but will from time to time make some changes as beach weather dictates! Oh, and we will be taking the week of August 4th to 9th off totally for some family fun. We'll do our best to keep this blog up to date...as you know life can get pretty crazy and time on the computer takes a bit of a back seat. Good health to all, have a great sumner and keep safe.
